Kähler – since 1839
The story of Kähler started way back in 1839 when the Holstein potter Hermann J. Kähler opened a small ceramics shop in the Danish town of Næstved. It was not until 1875 when his son Herman A. Kähler took over the shop, however, that the ceramics adventure seriously took off. After some good years in the beginning, Kähler experienced recession for many years, and over the years the brand lost its value. In 2008 however, the architect Frantz Longhi bought the rights for the soon to be 175 year old ceramics company, and since then, the company has refound the tradition and originality of its design. Kähler's assortment consists of a comprehensive series of beautiful ceramic products with soft and inviting colours and shapes which can be lead back to the very beginning. The vision of Kähler is to be the most innovative Scandinavian ceramics brand, which through a universe of authenticity inspires consumers and their visitors to pursue an achievable dream of Nordic design and food culture.
